I'm not going to make you guess which concert I haven't gone to, but I've never seen Depeche Mode live in concert which drives me crazy to this day. So I've never gotten into Big Finish Doctor Who audios. Like the show, if you didn't start off early it's daunting trying to figure out where to start. I've also had a slight issue not considering Big Finish canon. Well I just got a big ass box full of them from a dear friend in DC. Looks like I now know where to start. I truly believe we have the most generous and awesome fandom out there. Thank you.

It just dawned on me that I signed up for my first 5k and it's friggin next week. One doesn't need to train for 5ks...right???? My fat ass can't run to the end of the block, much less 5k. If I was on a bike 100 miles NO PROBLEM! I did buy nice new running shoes which I suppose I should try on again.

Seriously people, we all getting worked up over one person in China getting thrown off a plane? I know I been out of it since Wednesday due to family issues, but isn't there more pressing political issues in the world more deserving of our attention? Don't care about the backstory or your thoughts on airline policy. It's all distractions from larger issues which will ultimately be blamed on the Obama administration.

Going to start driving back to Florida tomorrow to be back in Winter Garden Tuesday night. Mom is doing better physically, though there are still lingering issues with the dementia which we feel was a result of the medications. Family, please call her. She gets lonely and needs interaction. Dad can only do so much due to his health and the long drive off the island. Thank you all for all the well wishes. It's tough with two aging parents. Really wish they would move closer to us in Florida.

16 hours of driving and I still haven't made it to Galveston, but made it to my mom. She is currently in an in-patient facility in Webster TX.

Since Mom's surgery on Monday, she has been suffering from delusions and paranoia. We are hoping it was from the medications and/or anesthesia from the surgery. She has even been violent, which is not my mother. Dad is in poor health and extremely exhausted from being with her non-stop. I'm begging family not to bombard him with phone calls. Once I'm there, I'm hoping to evaluated the situation and can give everyone updates. She is still at UTMB, and suppose to be transferred to an inpatient rehab facility soon. Was hoping to already be on the island, but seriously overestimated my ability to drive 16 hours non-stop.

Yesterday afternoon mom had a planned knee surgery. Talked to her a couple of times today, and it sounds like she is ok. She is still in the hospital. They are recommending that she stay in a nursing home for 10 days for physical therapy, which probably would be the best thing for her right now.
