Craigslist Find - Mid Century Desk
I've been searching for a decent desk for the upstairs office for awhile now. Of course I wanted a large teak mid century modern desk but didn't want to pay thousands of dollars for it. For weeks I searched Craigslist neurotically trying to find something which would not only look good, but would be functional. Ended up finding this here on the Hill from a couple that had just moved into an apartment by Eastern Market. They couldn't fit all their furniture into the space and something had to go. Ended up paying $30.00 for it, but had to carry it down two flights of stairs with Reg. Ended up killing our backs, but I love it.

I really really want...
I really want a danish wall unit like this. I even have the perfect place for this, in the dinning room by our Burke table. Unfortunately I don't have da money for it, and I've certainly never seen something like this at a thrift store.

Eames for Herman Miller chair
Purchased today off Craigslist 3/8/2009 for $200.00. Alot for a chair, but it works perfectly with my new desk. Herman Miller logo underneath with a date stamp of January 3, 1977. It also has a Herman Miller inspection sticker on it with the name Ken Overweg.

Estate sale treasure

Old funky chunky lamp purchased in Alexandria VA from an estate sale on 03/03/2009. I'm really into mid century lamps now.

George Nelson Gentleman's Chest
Home
A.H. McIntosh buffet, purchased from Home Anthology. One of two Saarinen oval tables found in Galveston Tx after Hurricane Ike in parents garage. By far my greatest mid-century find.

Burke
Our new Burke dining room table set from Home Anthology. I wish it was a Saarinen, but then I would be afraid to eat off it.

Saarinen tables
Found two Eero Saarinen side tables today buried in hurricane Ike mud. They were in great shape with the original tags. Cleaning them up I took off some of the tags, but you can still read the Knoll International address in New York City. I don’t know how I’m going to get them home, but I’ll be damned if I leave them in Galveston.
